Insurance
In order to participate in the Pre-Study Course documented evidence of the following insurances is mandatory:
- Health, casualty and liability insurance for the duration of the Pre-Study-Course or your stay in Germany respectively
- The documented evidence is to be sent in together with the application, or, at the latest, one month prior to the start of the course
- We recommend the long-standing insurance partner of the Goethe-Institute:
Klemmer-International Assekuranz GmbH
Further information is available at:
Klemmer-International Assekuranz GmbH
You can insure yourself online. You will receive the insurance documents (amongst other things the insurance confirmation for your visa application) via e-mail.
Please note:
The insurance package for EURO 40,- per month grants you insurance cover upon entry in Germany for the duration of the Pre-Study Course and fulfils all of Germany’s legal requirements. The insurance does not cover pre-existing medical conditions or treatments resulting from these.
Visa
Please inquire at the representation of the Federal Republic of Germany (embassy/consulate) in your home country about entry and stay permits.
Participants from countries that require a visa should apply at the German embassy for a „student visa“ four months prior to the start of the course. Please inform the authorities that you plan to pursue studies in Germany after a successful completion of the Pre-Study course.
For the visa application you will need:
-
the matriculation confirmation for the Pre-Study Course and the confirmation that the tuition fees have been paid in full;
- documented evidence for a health, casualty and liability insurance which is valid in Germany
As soon as you have applied for the Pre-Study Course, and we have received your tuition fees, the matriculation confirmation will be sent to you. This confirmation enables you to apply for a visa at the German embassy/consulate.
